NAVRANGI DESI GLAM 

The Navratri Festival is an Indian Festival which is enjoyed by all ages. The Navratri Pooja and the Durga Pooja is done to worship GODDESS DURGA. This festival is celebrated all around the globe

On Navratri, each Goddess of Navadurga is worshiped and puja begins with Shailputri Maa and ends with Siddhidhatri Mata. Dussehra falls on the 10th day and is celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm. Diwali, the festival of lights, is celebrated 20 days after Dussehra. Every year on Navratri eve, devotees are excited to know the list of nine different colors that they are supposed to wear on each day of the festival.

In this post I am going to tell you the meaning of every color and why it is wore on the particular day.

1.Pratipada (first day of navratri)
Shailaputri Maa is first among the Navadurga Goddess to be worshiped. Devotees wear yellow colored dress on the first day 

2.Dwitiya (second day of navratri)
Bharmacharini is the second form of mother goddess which is worshiped on the second day. The color of the day for devotees to wear on this auspicious day is ‘Green‘.

3.Tritiya (third day of navratri)
Chandraghanta is the third appearance of the goddess who symbolizes peace, serenity, beauty and bravery in one’s life. The color is GREY of that day for the devotees.

4.Chaturthi (fifth day of navratri)
Kushmanda is the fourth form of goddess that is worshiped on the fourth day of Navratri. She is mainly considered as the creator of the universe.The color of the day is ORANGE.

5.Panchami (fifth day of navratri)
Skandamata is a face of Maa Durga always known for demolishing the demons. On the fifth day of navratri , wear White :)
  
6.Sashti (sixth day of navratri)
Katyayani is worshiped on the sixth day of Navratri. She is regarded as an avatar of Goddess Durga. Red is the color people wear for that day.

7.Saptami (seventh day of navratri)
Kaalratri is the seventh figure of Goddess Durga and is supposed to protect all her devotees from trouble and evil and grant them with freedom and happiness.The devotees wear Royal blue color o the seventh day.

8.Ashtami (eight day of navratri)
Maha Gauri is worshipped on the eighth day and is regarded for forgiving her devotees’ sins and helping them to get purified.On this day, Saraswati Mata Puja is done whole-heartedly and ‘Pink‘ is regarded as the color of the day for all.

9.Navami (ninth day of navaratri)
                  
Siddhidatri is the form of Maa Durga for the ninth day of Navratri and is known to have great supernatural powers. ‘Purple‘ is the color of the day for ardent devotees as well.
